Visitor Visa
Visitor visa is also known as temporary resident visa (TRV) is an official counterfoil document that is placed in a passport. It shows that you meet the requirements to enter Canada.
Types of visas
Single-entry – A single entry visa allows visitors to enter Canada for one-time only.
Multiple-entry – A multiple entry visa allows visitors to enter and leave Canada multiple times as long as the visa is valid.

How long can you stay?
Most visitors can stay up to 6 months in Canada. However, the CBSA officer at port of entry may allow you to stay less or more than 6 months. If this is the case, they will put the date you need to leave by in your passport.

If you want to extend your stay in Canada as a visitor, you need to apply for visitor record.
A visitor record
- is a document that gives you status as a visitor in Canada and allows you to stay longer
- includes a new expiry date
- that’s the new date that you must leave Canada by
